One hour general or cultural competency CE approved by OANP.
This presentation will examine major trends in how racial and ethnic factors are used in research and affect three major areas of disease management: reference ranges and diagnostic tests, disease manifestation, and treatment response. We will discuss common conditions presenting in a primary care setting that may be better recognized and addressed by understanding the role of ethnicity in disease prevalence and manifestation, as well as examine historical and future utilization of race and ethnicity as factors in medical research.
